Test Preparation

Standardized Test Preparation

“We believe preparedness and improvement are derivatives of real learning…”

In order to build mastery of testing skills and strategies, Aino immerses students in engaging coursework. Our best of breed methods stand in stark contrast to those offered by other vendors. We do not take shortcuts that shortchange your child. Rather, we believe preparedness and improvement are derivatives of real learning.

Aino programs are designed to provide for the following test preparation outcomes:

Aino programs address the following tests, sections, and their constituents:

  • SAT Critical Reading
  • SAT Writing
  • SAT Math
  • SAT Essay
  • PSAT
  • NYS English Regents
  • SSAT
  • ISEE

We can also design custom programs for individual clients to address any of the testing needs above as well as those listed below:

  • SAT II Literature
  • AP English Literature
  • ACT

Testing Skills

Help students master the underlying reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and reasoning skills that are measured by standardized tests like the SAT.

Testing Content

Offer students compelling curriculum and cooperative learning communities centered around texts and topics that closely mirror SAT content.

Testing Structures

Administer assessments that are populated with the question types, section types, and varying levels of difficulty found on the SAT.

Testing Strategies

Emphasize the strategies students will need to succeed on the test, including annotation, anticipation, elimination, prioritization, recognition, time management, and diagramming.

Aino students are placed in a position to actively lead these discoveries through participation in and completion of small group work, competitive activities, cooperative projects, classwork, homework, and independent assignments. We work to leverage the power of these authentic educational experiences to maximize student gains.

Over the long term, Aino seeks to build skills in preparation for today’s tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE) that will also better prepare students for tomorrow’s tests (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT). This is accomplished by targeting significant synergies between the tests, reducing the need for future remediation.
